Lucy Ward creates atmospheric prints about landscapes and the natural world. She is fascinated by the way changes in time, light or weather can make the familiar shift into something strange and dreamlike. Her cinematic approach to lighting creates a sensation of expectant stillness, inviting the viewer to imagine what happens next, and what has already become part of the story.
Lucy uses a variety of techniques, including etching, aquatint, drypoint and monoprint. She makes her prints at Thames-Side Print Studio and in her own studio on the same site.
Her work has been exhibited at the Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition and galleries in London and Surrey, and she is a member of Greenwich Printmakers and Southbank Printmakers.
